Baron Canyon, Algonquin Park  (August 2000)

The Barron Canyon, another trip destination I've put off for too long. I finally got my chance with a group of 4 people from 14-17 August. We paddled from the Achray campground to Stratton Lake, then to Opalescent Lake and then on in to the canyon to pull out downriver at the Achray road bridge. The canyon itself is surely spectacular. But the most fun I had on the trip was playing on the natural water slide at High Falls draining Stratton Lake. What a blast!  It really is a must see and do!  I would definitely go back and I kept thinking how it would be an ideal place to take someone on their first canoe trip.
